This research software engineering role supports our MyTardis instrument data service as we transition from a pilot to a fully-fledged service. If successful, you will work in a friendly team environment (_with a fondness for cake_), co-designing and developing new automated data workflows alongside our researchers to ingest instrument data into our existing repository. Alongside this, you will work with the larger University IT team to integrate the instrument data service into other university systems.
You will also assist researchers in meeting their goals by providing access to the centre’s services and advising them on the available digital technologies. Additionally, there is an opportunity to contribute to training activities supporting the centre, sharing your knowledge and helping develop researcher digital skills.
This role is a full time (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term position until the end of 2024.
Remuneration: $87,500 - $97,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person, passionate about enabling research, who wishes to put their digital skills to use, working alongside researchers from diverse domains. You will have a firm grounding in research environments and a good understanding of Python, Git and Linux-based systems. You will contribute to and benefit from the team’s broad skill base and be excited by the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines and likely in a variety of different capacities.
