Auckland City, New Zealand Auckland Council Full time

.
- Be at the heart of taking people on the journey of city centre transformation
- Work on major, high-profile plans and developments at the core of New Zealand's largest and most vibrant city
- Help deliver the City Centre Masterplan outcomes for Aucklanders

Auckland is maturing into a world-class city - one that reflects the changing way we use our city. From better public spaces, to connected communities, to a stronger focus on enjoying our beautiful natural environment, Tāmaki Makaurau will be a city for all Aucklanders.

As the City Centre Programme team in Auckland Council’s Development Programme Office, we are bringing to life the City Centre Masterplan - helping to transform Auckland’s city centre into a place that reflects who we are as Aucklanders, a place for all people to enjoy, where business and cultural expression thrive, and a place for future generations.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

You’ll be joining us at an exciting time - our recent transformation of the waterfront area into a place Aucklanders can be proud of demonstrates the value of investing in well-designed spaces for people. We’ve now turned our focus to midtown, where regeneration will create a vibrant city centre of civic and cultural life in Tamaki Makaurau, connected by world-class transport. We're seeking an engagement specialist to support public participation in design and stakeholder communications during construction, ensuring neighbours are kept informed about changes and that there’s equitable input from diverse voices to help shape Auckland’s city centre.

Working closely with our principal advisor - Stakeholders and Engagement and project delivery teams, you’ll be:

- Crafting and implementing engagement plans and delivering high-quality public engagement for city centre projects
- Providing expert advice to embed community participation
- Project managing engagement activities, tracking progress and budgets
- Leading content creation for communications to impacted neighbours
- Influencing decision-making based on community input
- Fostering a culture of meaningful engagement between council and communities

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
Are you passionate about community engagement and ready to help drive positive change?
- You’ll have experience of diverse engagement strategies for public participation and have strong cultural competencies for engaging with a wide range of people
- You will have strong analysis and writing abilities across various formats (online content, technical reports, presentations) and a knack for translating technical information into easily understood messages for customers.
- You’ll be a whiz at spreadsheets and project management, keeping track of deliverables, budgets and contractors.
- You recognise that Te Ao Māori and our Māori communities should contribute significantly and meaningfully in the current reshaping of Tāmaki Makaurau.
- You have a passion for our city and its future potential, and empathy for our diverse customers and stakeholders as we progress transformational change for our city.

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

You will be at the heart of the vibrant and exciting city centre customer experience team and the wider city centre transformation programme with the mandate and tools to make meaningful impact.

You will be working for an organisation that embraces diversity and has a culture built on trust and valuing individual contributions. We offer a competitive salary; flexible working and you get to work with a team of dedicated and respected experts who share a passion for making a difference.

Bring your talents and experience and be part of our ever-changing skyline. So come and join us - we know you'll be challenged and inspired, and make an impact through effective engagement strategies

**Please find the position description** here
**Application close**:Sunday 21st April 2024
