About us
Every day the GCSB and NZIS work to protect and enhance New Zealand's security and wellbeing to keep New Zealander's secure and safe. The National Facilities Manager sits within the National Intelligence Community, working closely with the GCSB and NZIS providing leadership, advice and guidance on integral facility matters.
About the role
The National Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the nationwide facilities of the GCSB and NZIS to ensure best practice of their property portfolio. As the National Facilities Manager, you will influence and lead strategic and operational management of facilities, making sure they are safe, healthy, and sustainable.
You will look after three regional supervisors and will be responsible for promoting a positive and cohesive team environment, whilst ensuring a successful delivery of results across the property portfolio.
This is a role with lots of variety, and no two days will be the same. If you love a mix of people management, facility management, and working towards sustainable outcomes, then this could be just the role for you
What you will bring
We are looking for someone with a high level of self-motivation and a good knowledge of the Building Act, along with:

- Professional experience at a senior facilities management level.
- Previous people leadership experience.
- Experience in communicating complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent project management skills - be able to establish a strong course of action to achieve specific goals.
- Experience working with tight deadlines and a strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of building infrastructure and services.
- A commitment to health and safety
