We are looking for a team member that will support and enable operational excellence by supporting projects and business leaders to understand how quality management is more than just complying with processes and completing audits. This role will focus on developing the quality management maturity of the business. This role is for a 12 month fixed term maternity cover.

Quality is viewed as a way of managing and ensuring outcomes. Achieving quality means delivering excellence in both the process and output of producing client outcomes (and other stakeholders). Technology and innovation are tools used within the business to achieve delivery excellence.

The National Quality Systems Manager will work closely with operational teams across Facilities ensuring staff have the documentation and tools to meet both internal process requirements and ensure client needs and expectations are exceeded.

Continuously capturing and sharing leading practice is critical to the role, hence a strong communicator who can engage positively with the business and facilitate training is imperative.

This role supports the delivery of great projects through quality, technology and innovation. This is not about just solving immediate problems - it's about digging in and coming up with solutions to a variety of time sensitive, operational critical issues - it's about passion, innovation and excellence.

**Overall, the role will**:
Lead the implementation of quality management procedures and systems, including the adoption of The Downer Standard and development of specific capability documents;
Coordinate and conduct regular reviews of quality management activities at both the business unit and project level;
Develop the understanding of risk management processes, procedures and systems, including facilitating risk management workshops, risk analysis, together with training sessions with site-based teams;
Ensure Facilities is represented within the Downer NZ and Australia communities to ensure systems and feedback considers Facilities requirements; and

Develop the business understanding of quality management beyond a compliance mentality.

**You will also have**:
Experience as a quality control/assurance/manager;
Intermediate computer skills (MS Suite of projects; use of SharePoint or other database advantageous)

Knowledge of relevant ISO standards

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation and facilitation skills;
A valid, unrestricted, drivers licence and ability to travel to work across a broad geographical region;
Experience in the business intelligence tools such as Power BI would be an advantage

A strong drive for continuous improvement and problem solving - willing to challenge the status quo and get things done;
Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empower others;
