We currently have a vacancy for a registered nurse to join our Public Health Nursing Service to cover the Hauraki & Coromandel Peninsula areas. The primary office location of this role is between Paeroa and Thames depending on applicant experience, and will require travel. This position will support District Nursing services when required. Ongoing relationship building is an essential part of our service. Familiarisation with, and use of electronic devices is an essential part of this role. This position is not suitable for a new graduate nurse.

**Mōu | About you**
- Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- Current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate-
- A current full unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to drive daily and long distances-
- Relevant community based nursing experience-
- Relevant postgraduate experience in child and family nursing care with a minimum of 5 years.-
- Proven assessment, time management and communication skillsA willingness to learnDesirable:
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously / self-manage within a multi-disciplinary team is important for this role-
- A passion for improving health outcomes for children and their families/whanau is essential with an ability to work within a variety of social demographics-

- Rural Public Health Nursing offers a challenging and complex nursing role within the community working alongside families, children and schools. A Public Health Nurse is required to be multi-skilled, with excellent assessment and communication skills. Public Health Nurses need to be able to use critical thinking, problem solve and prioritise their workload autonomously.
- We work with many health and community providers, including the education sector. The Public Health Nurse Service provides the School Based Immunisation Program for year 7 & 8 students twice yearly. Authorised Vaccinator status is beneficial.
