**About the role**

We need your expertise to shape our strategy, lead our team, and cultivate our local, global and partner relationships so we can provide the best service to our most important stakeholders - our customers.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a unique opportunity to become a key member of Chubb Life NZ’s Leadership Team.

**You’ll take ownership for**:

- Establishing the philosophy and strategic direction of claims.
- Crafting a top-tier service proposition incorporating strong case assessment practices to stand out in the market.
- Establishing strong and meaningful connections with partners to drive success and growth.
- Ensuring robust governance and guidelines are in place to monitor and support best practice claims outcomesEnhancing claims strategies to support product development, faster processing, and superior customer experience

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Give clear and engaging direction to Claims teams to prioritize fair customer outcomes, leading service, and sustainable products and pricing.
- Develop strong technical assessment protocols to ensure transparency while complying with policy terms and risk tolerance.
- Ensure claims guidelines and strategies are developed, approved and communicated.
- Build strong connections with third-party providers, as well as local and global teams.Take ownership of continuous improvement, implement, and monitor effective processes and standards to identify efficiencies.

**To excel in this role, you will bring**:

- 15+ years of insurance industry experience, in particular, experience in Life and Disability
- Detailed knowledge of claims practices and procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge and influence senior leaders, partners and your team.
- Proven experience effectively managing and leading customer-facing teams through change
- A track record of advocating for change, challenging the status quo, and guiding transformative journeys through storytelling.A resilient personality with vision, a strong voice, and the capability to sell your ideas to senior leaders

**Location**:
Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch. Our teams are distributed. Thus, travel will be required.
