Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is dedicated to making great places Aucklander’s love by supporting several related services such as asset maintenance, management and renewals of Parks, Open Spaces, Buildings, Facilities, Conservation Areas and Urban Ngahere (forest). As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities and environment while also delivering strategically significant programmes.

As an Ecological Specialist, you’ll work as part of a team to coordinate and facilitate the management and restoration of indigenous biodiversity, including threatened species. You’ll provide technical expertise and input into operational programmes in relation to ecological assets on local park land.

Key responsibilities include oversight of the Ecological Restoration works and collaboration with the contractors to achieve the desired outcomes and to drive efficiency and productivity.

Your ability to work collaboratively with other ecologically focused departments to contribute to the implementation of best practice methodologies will be critical to your success.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

Along with great problem solving and decision-making skills, you will have contract management experience, including ability to audit ecological works and oversee the budget spend.

You have a relevant qualification in Ecology, and experience with delivery of ecological restoration works.
