**Salary range: $62,000 - $70,000**

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:
A talented and experienced Ecologist to be a part of our high performing and motivated Ecology Team in Wellington.

A person who can provide relevant specialist knowledge in the area of ecology in New Zealand. Someone who has the expertise and experience, to provide high quality outputs for clients and build capacity in Wildlands for ecological projects.

**MUST HAVE**:

- A post-graduate degree in ecology, botany, biology, or related field.
- 3 -10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Previous ecological consulting experience.
- Sound field skills covering a range of ecosystems, habitats, and taxa, preferably with specialist knowledge in one field.
- Experience in ecological effects assessments, ecological survey work, management and restoration of natural areas.
- Demonstrated experience in ecological survey work.
- 2 years experience working as an ecologist in the Wellington region.
- Electric Fishing Certificate.
- Experience in managing multi-faceted projects.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant NZ legislation (particularly the RMA), policy and guidance.
- Positive business development and networking skills.
- Report writing skills.
- Project and budget management skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build productive working relationships and work collaboratively.
- Proven ability to communicate on appropriate technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of current and potential clients.
- The ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Ability to work away from home base at short notice.
