**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We are seeking an Outpatient Administrator to join our reception team which supports a patient - s journey from referral, to a Capital Coast and Hutt Valley (CCHV) treatment provider, right through to discharge. This role is based in the Wellington Hospital, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring quality, customer focused reception services are provided to our patients attending clinics or making phone enquiries. You will schedule patient interactions and bookings, liaise with our clinical teams to provide the very best patient journey.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of our services, ensuring that booking protocols are followed and adhered to in order to keep waiting times to a minimum, reviewing the patient information recorded in our Patient Management System and following up with services for their patients who have missed appointments.

**Moū - About you**

We are looking for someone with effective time management skills, is self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be able to deal with ambiguity, comfortably handling risk and uncertainty, while also having great communications skills and the ability to communicate with members of the public who may be distressed. Your excellent attention to detail, along with your perseverance and commitment to your work will allow you excel in this role.

Other skills and experience we are looking for include:

- Strong decision making skills.
- Great Microsoft Office Suite computer skills, particularly excel
- Exposure in working with cultures other than their own
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate with members of the team or the public including those who are distressed or angry.
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act and other legislation protecting confidentiality
