About the role:
In this role, the ER advisor is dedicated to providing professional, timely, and accurate support to our members. Responsibilities include maintaining an up-to-date resource library, conveying legislative updates accurately, and promptly notifying the Team Leader of industry-relevant changes. Building and nurturing positive relationships with our members and contacts is a core aspect of this role. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a customer-centric mindset are essential qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accessible library of guidelines compliant with current legislation and case law.
- Provide accurate and timely responses to member inquiries.
- Draft letters and policies upon member request.
- Assist members in mediations and small claims disputes, ensuring appropriate charges.
- Communicate statute and case law changes to members and report significant impacts to the Team Leader.
- Develop innovative compliance solutions and guidelines.
- Manage the Association's reference library.
- Contribute articles on industry legal matters to publications.
- Handle emergency phone duties, sharing responsibilities with the Helpline team.
- Conduct webinars and seminars on legislative updates, assist with recruitment planning and HR issues, and perform other tasks as directed by the Team Leader. Represent the Association at events and forums when required by the Team Leader or CEO.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Qualification in law or familiarity with NZ employment law highly desirable.
- Essential experience in Employment Relations side of HR.
- Broad legal expertise covering various areas relevant to hospitality businesses.
- Profound comprehension of legal implications on organizations.
- Skilled in devising legal strategies and objectives, coupled with financial acumen.
- Exemplary ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
- Exceptional judgment, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive in identifying and addressing legal issues and risks.
- In-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in computer tools, including MS Office.
- Negotiation skills, preferably in a not-for-profit setting.
