We're seeking someone with a passion for leadership development, excellent communication skills, and a background in adult education or training.Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role: This position is a 2-year fixed-term opportunity based out of Mt Wellington. You will report to the Manager of Region Training and the training team. You will provide training support for Chief Fire Officers; Controllers, and Station Training Coordinators; and work closely alongside Volunteer Support Officers and District Management Teams. You will also be expected to be involved in training delivery nationally at Mt Wellington, Woolston, NTC Rotorua, other training centres and Stations. Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role: The Trainer role requires an excellent understanding of volunteer and career operations and an understanding on how people learn. You will be part of a training team that demonstrates best training and operational practice, and values Fire and Emergency volunteers and the work they do in their communities.As a region trainer, you will have a direct and almost immediate impact on the effectiveness of the organisation, and its ability in leading integrated emergency services across New Zealand. To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:

- Be operationally skilled and current with a Fire Fighting background.
- Very skilled in establishing effective working relationships with District Management Teams, Chief Fire Officers, Controllers, Station Training Coordinators, and members to assist in meeting brigade training and development needs.
- Adult education experience and be a certified trainer.
- Experienced in delivering training to volunteer and career sectors.
- Be able to deliver both high-quality structured training and work effectively alongside trainees
- Focused on achieving results and being able to work to an agreed plan, in partnership with others
- Have sound planning, time management, and communication skills.
- Skilled in relationship-building, the ability to influence, and assist learners

The salary range for this role is $ 87,673.38 to $105,721.33 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.Ko wai mātou - Who are we?
