Our Sector Digital Channels team is the driving force behind change in our nationally enabled services. We're on a mission to create cost-effective and sustainable digital solutions that revolutionize accessibility. From user-friendly digital self-service options to seamless integration and automation, we're here to make life easier for the workforce.
We take pride in managing, delivering, and providing unwavering support for all our national external services. From Te Whatu Ora to Te Aka Whai Ora and Manatū Hauora, we've got our fingers on the pulse of it all. Plus, we're the champions of developing APIs that foster interconnectedness across systems used by external parties. It's like creating a symphony of seamless integration with the National Immunisation Register and Health Provider Index. Together, we're making a real impact.
**Mōu | About you**
As a Product Owner, you are the driving force behind maintaining and enhancing technology services that are revolutionizing the health sector. Your expertise will be pivotal in defining, managing, and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring it is actionable and aligns with the product vision. You will represent the voice of the end users, identifying their needs and using this as a basis to select features for delivery and inclusion on the product roadmap. What's more, you will be collaborating with the cross functional product delivery team, defining user stories and acceptance criteria and ensure that completed features are fit for purpose.
The key services you will be responsible for are the Health Provider Index (HPI) and Health Provider Directory (HPD). They underpin the unique identification of practitioners and the organisations and facilities at which they work, and will support more types of health worker identities over time
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst or similar role in an Agile environment within large and complex organisations.
- Experience working in software development or product management.
- An analytical and enquiring mindset, with a willingness to ask probing questions to understand the underlying information.
- Knowledge of product development, service design, design patterns, UX and modern engineering practices.
- Knowledge of the health sector and health information systems and processes.
- Experience with product backlogs and user stories.
- Deep understanding and experience with Agile methodologies, process, and principles.
- Experience managing and influencing key stakeholders' expectations across all levels of an organisation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to explain information in a way that is readily understood, with the ability to sell the product vision to stakeholders across all levels.
- The ability to work in complex environments and with a wide range of diverse stakeholders that are internal and external to Te Whatu Ora.
- The ability to coach and mentor staff and stakeholders, and to work with people at all levels within the health sector.
- A demonstratable understanding of working within “digital business”, with new technologies and how they can enhance business productivity and customer experience.
- The ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex concepts and environments.
- The ability to deliver results by influencing team members and working effectively at a fast pace with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- A track record of innovation, proactivity, and resourcefulness; and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- A focus on outcomes with the flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
- Previous experience working on Identity and Access Management projects allied with a strong ICT background in infrastructure and integration is desirable.
