Matcraft Industries has been operating since 2008 and is proudly owner operated. We are a well-established leader and innovator in the composite industry.
We design, manufacture, and repair all things fibreglass. We also manufacture Saronic Boats and offer a range of swim platforms and hard tops in New Zealand and abroad.

**Job brief**
We"re looking for self-sufficient people who can hit the ground running.
Another motivated superstar needs to join our expanding team.
**Responsibilities**
- Builds, repairs, and modifies boats.
- Studies plans and specifications and prepares templates and scale plans for fabrication, installation, and repair work.
- Assembles shells of boats.
- Determines repair requirements and procedure.
- May make hull moulds and fabricate and repair vessels using materials such as aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass, and
- Builds frames, decking, fittings, machines, shafts and safety equipment.
- Builds and installs structures such as cabins, machine mountings, propeller supports and rudders.
- Does finishing work such as filling and fairing, painting.
- Operate controls to regulate temperature, pressure, speed and flow of operation.
- Measure and load materials, items and ingredients for mixing into machines and feeding mechanisms.
- Monitor operation, regulate material supply and add chemicals and colourants to the mixture.
- Operate rollers to remove air.
- Examine the output for defects and conformity to specifications.
- Perform minor repairs and maintain production records.
**Requirements and Skills**
- At least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience using chopper gun
- Experience with hand-laying and trimming fibreglass laminate.
- Experience working with polyester resin.
- Gel coating experience.
- Experience working on boat hulls is a plus.
- Be flexible with work hours.
- Be willing to undergo occasional drug tests while employed.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is $29.66-$32.00 (based on your experience level).
The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 50 hours maximum per week to be worked between Monday to Thursday between 8 am and 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 4 pm and may be required to work on
weekends.
