Auckland City, New Zealand Farrow Jamieson Full time

National role
- Focus on driver training and programme developement
- Use data and analytics to model behaviour change

**The Organisation**
Growing from its humble roots in the heart of the Canterbury Plains in 1935, our client Ritchies Transport is now one of New Zealand’s largest and most successful transportation companies. With depots from Kaitaia in the North, to Gore in the deep heartland of the South, Ritchies have built up a diverse fleet of over 1600 vehicles and around 2,000 dedicated employees.

Following the acquisition of the business by KKR in 2021, the business has invested heavily to become more hi tech at every level. The buses all run EROAD tracking and monitoring systems, allowing them to see and record bus position, performance and driver habits and response. Their mechanics include diagnostic computers in their toolboxes; they run cloud-based systems for vehicle and staff management. Ritchies executive team is constantly assessing industry developments and ideas worldwide, the ongoing goal being better efficiency and the increasing service expectations of their clients. The high standard of our new coaches reflects this, with better environmental and economic performance, increased safety by embracing the current European standards.

**The Role**
In the newly-created role of National Training Manager, your ultimate goal will be to build and deliver a comprehensive plan for the business - to create the structure and concept of training and imbed the culture of continuous improvement. The focus will be on key areas on compliance, health and safety, de-escalation and the comprehensive use of data to inform and improve driver performance. This will allow the existing training structure to better deliver on performance and customer service KPIs. Ritchies drivers are the link to the community, and their performance maintains the reputation of the brand. Reporting to the Director of People, this is a pivotal role in the new structure of the business.
- The development of training frameworks,
- Communication and conflict management,
- Business Case development and data analysis

You will have an authentic leadership style and the ability to motivate others, and an acute problem-solving ability with a genuine desire to get things done.

**The Benefits**
If you’re successful, you will be offered a more than competitive annual salary package that is reflective of the importance of this role to Ritchies, all tools of the trade, as well as assorted additional benefits. If you're looking to take your career to the next level with a company that is literally going places, we encourage you to consider this opportunity with Ritchies

Applicants will need to provide proof of their right to work permanently in New Zealand to be considered.
