Our fleet of 2 ships and over 200 trucks is supported by a nationwide network of 10 depots and a 450+ strong team to deliver hundreds of thousands of tonnes of freight (and passengers) weekly.**What is the role?**
- Reporting to the GM Marine Operations, you will be responsible for leading the team, consisting of Hospitality Supervisors, Hospitality Attendants and Galley staff, to be responsible for the safety of all passengers onboard the Connemara and Strait Feronia. With your experience in hospitality, you will coach the team to ensure passenger safety and service is delivered, ensuring they have a memorable experience every time and leave the vessels looking forward to their next travels with us.
- **Your responsibilities will also include**:

- Sourcing and rostering crew to the required numbers
- Ensuring your crew complies with all Maritime New Zealand regulations
- Coaching and mentoring your team on a regular basis
- Managing and overseeing the customer onboard experienceWorking with the GM Marine Operations and Chief Commercial Officer to ensure all commercial aspects of the onboard services aligns with the company annual budget and requirements
-Management and Implementation of special projects

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at StraitNZ’s head office in the** Wellington CBD**. Your crew are all based onboard our ships; therefore, you will be required to sail with them on a regular basis.
- **What are we looking for?**- Additionally, you will need:

Knowledge and experience of compliance with maritime regulations or experience in another similar field.
-Have a background in Food and Beverage.
-Experience in managing the full employee life cycle, including knowledge of legislative requirements.
-Be tech savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to pick up new systems quickly.
-Commercial experience to bolster delivery and growth of the commercial aspects of the role
