**About the role**:
Assist with the provision of management accounting services for a range of Council activities as well as completion of day to day and year end accounting processes. Maintain effective working relationships to support the wider finance team on completing finance related special projects.

This role will also see you:

- Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports to Council Committees
- Prepare appropriate cost centre budgeting analysis
- Prepare accounting journals and reconciliations
- Assist in the completion of year end accounting processes
- Complete financial projects as required including historic cost/income analysis, funding option reviews, calculation of fees and charges
- Support with fixed asset accounting entries

We are seeking a full time Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role offers flexibility with working hours and the ability to work 1-2 days a week from home. Whether you are newly qualified and looking to gain valuable career experience or are part way through your studies then we have a fantastic role for you

You will have:

- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- High computer literacy with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working with an ERP system will be viewed favorably
- Ability to interpret and monitor information
- Experience using Excel and other Microsoft products
- A proactive attitude towards learning and growth
