We're looking for an upbeat, friendly, hard-working Assistant Accountant to join our team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the success of our organisation. This position is ideal for someone with accounting experience and who has either completed a degree or is close to completing one and who possesses exceptional attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to think on their feet.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation of month and year end financial accounts, supporting the Financial Accountant in the process.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of financial data to maintain the integrity of our records and identify discrepancies.
- Responsible for the timely filing of GST returns and compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring proper recording and depreciation of assets.
- Collaborate with team members to support various Finance team projects and initiatives.

Your excellent planning, time management skills and eye for detail, coupled with the ability to meet deadlines, are skills you'll need for this role. An advanced level of computer literacy in Excel and other Microsoft Office products is essential. If you have a good working history in a similar role, a qualification in accounting, and are looking to learn and develop, we'd like to hear from you. It goes without saying that you'll be an excellent communicator, have good listening skills, and love what you do.
