The Role:


Based in our offices in Christchurch (Hornby), we have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our talented and close-knit Finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for a variety of accounting and administration tasks relating to the efficient and effective processing of accounting transactions.

The role requires a high standard of accuracy and timeliness, and the largest volume of work will relate to the Accounts Payable function - with additional support for Accounts Receivable and Treasury work as required.


The Accounts Assistant will also be expected to look for and drive opportunities for improvement in the continued automation of existing processes and will be focused on maximising the effective use of all relevant systems.

**More specifically, as the Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for: - **- Processing and reconciling invoices and creditor statements

  • Liaising with all departments regarding invoices and invoice requirements etc
  • Preparing creditor payment runs with appropriate reconciliation and reporting
  • Ensuring invoice compliance with associated internal policies and procedures
  • Monitoring, reporting on and following up overdue invoices
  • Loading new and maintaining existing vendors details
  • Processing international money transfers
  • Monitoring daily accruals
  • A wide range of additional Accounts tasks as required in a large complex business
  • Ideally possess previous experience working in a similar Accounts Assistant/Accounts Payable position
  • Preferably have had experience working in a largescale complex organisation
  • Have an exceptional level of attention to detail
  • Be a proactive individual with excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills
  • Be generally IT literate and able to learn new systems and be comfortable using a variety of MS Excel based spreadsheets
