**About the role**

Iwi and Community Prevention Team at Police National Headquarters is seeking a Senior Advisor to join the Youth and Schools Partnership Team. The primary focus of the role is collaborating and building partnerships with our youth and education/school partners across the motu. You will be working with our partners to develop strategies and initiatives to enable delivery of Our Business to ensure all communities feel safe and are safe.

We’re looking for someone skilled at fostering and maintaining partnerships and using these skills to develop and maintain collaborative strategic alliances with key partners.

You’ll be working across Police contributing to the development and implementation of projects to support their successful implementation within Districts.

Knowledge of the School Community Officer role, the role of police in education, and/or experience working with youth, from either a Police or external perspective is an advantage.

The most important assets you will bring will be innovative thinking, your ability to collaborate well in a dynamic team and a positive attitude.

As Senior Prevention Partnerships Advisor, you will take a leadership role within Police, helping, guiding, and empowering others to make their diverse communities safer.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Contribute to the development of Iwi & Community youth strategies and initiatives that meet the needs of Māori, Pacific, ethnic and other communities.
- Work across the Iwi & Community team to identify and understand current and emerging issues and help develop effective partnerships and strategies to reduce and prevent harm.
- Work across the sector to help increase the effectiveness of the Police response to youth with the aim to reduce victimization.
- Seek out and develop opportunities for Police to collaborate with others to foster and develop workstreams to manage and help resolve any identified problem areas, or opportunities for positive growth.

**Special requirements**

For Police constabulary applicants, CPK to Senior Sergeant level is desired, but not essential. If successful, CPK will be required to be completed within 12 months of taking up the role, and the CEP leadership program commenced.
