**Client**:
Our client is dominating the Manawatu and Wellington markets and quickly becoming a well-known name in the Traffic Management industry. Due to rapid growth, our client now requires an experienced Health and Safety Manager. As experts in traffic management planning services, our client is passionate about keeping our community safe on New Zealand roads.

**Overview**:
In this role you will report directly to the Business Director and be a key part of the success of the business. You will ideally have minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a prior Traffic Management, Civil Construction or Health and Safety Management role. This is a newly established role in the business with a large ability to lead from the front and make it your own.

You will bring with you a background in effective risk management and be able to maintain a clear vision around Zero Harm in the workplace. Through relentless leadership, you will be committed to getting your employees home safe each day.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure business complies with the HSWA 2015
- Review and revise current Health and Safety documentation - assist with development of current policies to ensure key directives are in-line with the most current code of practice and legislation.
- Identify risks and ensure controls are in place and followed
- Leading and attending toolbox talks, pre start meetings and regular health and safety meetings
- Implement Health and Safety objectives with a Zero Harm mind-set
- Oversee site risk management plans and liaise with STMS
- Ensure all incidents, near misses and hazards are documented and have the appropriate action-plans in place
- Implement, lead and monitor behavioural safety initiatives and improvement programmes

**Requirements**:

- At least 2-5 years in a Traffic Operations or Health and Safety role - or relevant tertiary qualification
- Accredited Safety Auditor and registered safety professional preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills at all levels - oral, written and presentation.
- Leadership ability across a large, diverse team
- Emotional intelligence and people management skills
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities

**Days and hours**:
You will be required on site Monday to Friday, and your hours of work will be between 7:00am-5pm, however there will be times you are required outside of these hours.
