Client:
Our client is dominating the Manawatu and Wellington markets and quickly becoming a well-known name in the Traffic Management industry.
As experts in traffic management planning services, our client is passionate about keeping our community safe on New Zealand roads.
Overview:
In this role you will report directly to the Business Director and be a key part of the success of the business.
You will ideally have minimum 3-5 years' experience in a prior Traffic Management, Civil Construction or Health and Safety Management role.
This is a newly established role in the business with a large ability to lead from the front and make it your own.
You will bring with you a background in effective risk management and be able to maintain a clear vision around Zero Harm in the workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure business complies with the HSWA 201
- Review and revise current Health and Safety documentation assist with development of current policies to ensure key directives are inline with the most current code of practice and legislation.
- Identify risks and ensure controls are in place and followed
- Leading and attending toolbox talks, pre start meetings and regular health and safety meetings
- Implement Health and Safety objectives with a Zero Harm mindset
- Oversee site risk management plans and liaise with STMS
- Ensure all incidents, near misses and hazards are documented and have the appropriate actionplans in place
- Implement, lead and monitor behavioural safety initiatives and improvement programmes
Requirements:
- At least 25 years in a Traffic Operations or Health and Safety role or relevant tertiary qualification
- Accredited Safety Auditor and registered safety professional preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills at all levels oral, written and presentation.
- Leadership ability across a large, diverse team
- Emotional intelligence and people management skills
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities
Days and hours:
You will be required on site Monday to Friday, and your hours of work will be between 7:00am-5pm, however there will be times you are required outside of these hours.
