This is an exciting position for those who pride themselves on providing high quality and timely research, advice and practical support to the Labour Party Leader and members of the Labour Party Caucus.

You will strive to ensure the Labour Party Leader and the Labour Caucus. You will be methodical and have excellent research and analytical ability. You will have a proven track record in researching issues and policies. You will have excellent people-skills and a proven ability to work well in a high-pressure team environment. You will be able to build and maintain professional relationships, both internally and externally. You will have a political acumen and a passion for delivering results.

**Ngā haepapa - Responsibilities**:

- Producing high-quality research and policy advice for the Leader and MPs
- Work closely with colleague to provide seamless support for the Leader and MPs
- Play a key part in holding the Government to account
- Have existing and build and maintain new relationships with the media and stakeholders
- Consult and brief the Leader and MPs on their related portfolios
- Work closely with the Leader's Office team to ensure consistency of messaging, advice and support

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape is essential. You'll appreciate the sometimes-unpredictable nature of this environment and instead of letting it faze you, you thrive on it.
The pay band for the role starts at $78,750 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Parliamentary Precinct for 40 hours per week.
