An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Office of Pacific Advancement (OPA) for an energetic and self-motivated person to support our team with the administration and delivery of high-quality and culturally affirming advisory support for our Pacific students.

OPA is grounded in a collective commitment to elevating the well-being and success of Pacific communities at AUT and beyond. As a member of this team, you will work within our student advisory services to ensure our Pacific students achieve cultural, academic, personal, and career success across their student journey. Your work will be underpinned by a strength-based approach grounded in AUT's values Tika, Pono, and Aroha and Pacific values; and aligned with Te Aronui, AUT's Te Tiriti o Waitangi framework, our Pacific Plan (in development), Ki Uta Ki Tai Student Success Plan and The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, planning, and delivery of Pacific student success initiatives and services across the OPA portfolio, with a particular focus on culturally sustaining and holistic pastoral care. You will assist with maintaining the OPA student spaces assigned to you to increase the visibility of OPA's activities and services and build our Pacific community at AUT.

As the Pacific Student Assistant, you will guide students through a case management approach that is grounded in Pacific values, providing them with culturally affirming advisory, advocacy, and mentoring services. You will respond to, and escalate as appropriate, any referrals, enquiries, and concerns from students and staff in an effective and timely manner.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of evaluation frameworks and monitoring and reporting processes to understand the Pacific student experience. This includes the effective use of CRM, Arion, and Canvas, and the use of other tools for understanding and measuring both student and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will also have:

- Relationships with Pacific communities and knowledge of Pacific values and ways of knowing and being.
- A relevant tertiary degree and relevant work/voluntary experience, ideally in student services or community-based initiatives.
- The ability to contribute to the continuous review and improvement of services, systems, and processes aligned with best practices.
- A strong background in working collaboratively as part of a small-medium-sized team.
- The ability to develop and maintain positive, collaborative, mutually beneficial professional relationships with students, staff, and other stakeholders.

**Salary Range**: $56,500 - $75,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
