**_About us/Mō mātou_**
Founded in 1869, the University of Otago is New Zealand's first university. It has a strong teaching and research tradition and well-established national and international linkages. It is also one of New Zealand's largest universities, with over 20,000 students, assets in excess of $2.0 billion and 4,000 full time equivalent staff based in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Invercargill.

The University of Otago Schools’ Liaison team of twelve has offices in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. We visit secondary schools all over New Zealand during terms one and two each year to let senior students know about the opportunities for living and learning at Otago. Then we return in terms three and four to help students plan their studies.
