Job Overview & Purpose:
To lead and manage Regional business performance and customer satisfaction through effective and appropriate delivery of products and services.

The Regional Manager has overall responsibility for the geographical region including marketing, profit & loss, business development, credit risk, reputational risk, contributing to Country Banking NZ strategic plan, setting own strategy plan, operational stability, compliance and leading and managing people.

Context of Job:
To contribute to achieving Country Banking New Zealand (CBNZ) goals for profitability, client satisfaction and credit quality.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Ensure the region performs at or better than budget by managing direct costs, margins and income and ensure the region achieves or exceeds net growth budgets for assets and liabilities
- Ensure Risk Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC) is maximised across the region.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the New Zealand Country Banking business strategy.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain high customer advocacy rates and manage and resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely manner
- Maintain relationships with high value clients across the Region
- Maximise productivity through efficiencies and change management (systems, process, people) in line with the bank’s policies and systems.
- Identify business risks and poor-performing assets early and ensure appropriate action taken to resolve.
- Accountable for ensuring compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures at all times, including Audit, Compliance, Business Continuity and Credit (excesses, reviews, client conditions).
- Deliver a culture and tone from the top, consistent with Rabobank Group’s values, ethics and expected behaviours
- Protect the reputation and brand of Rabobank
- Lead and deliver the agreed objectives of RANZG for Country Banking New Zealand within the region within the appropriate risk appetites
- Ensure good stewardship of the people, resources, systems and processes within Country Banking New Zealand
- Participate in and actively contribute to the Management Team of Country Banking New Zealand
- Lead and motivate an effective and engaged Region team and coach/mentor senior managers
- Attract, develop and retain key employees.
- Lead the Region in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Manage succession, and the career development of key employees.
- Proactively manage the performance of the employees in the Region
- Manage Work health and safety matters.
- Ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met
- Contribute to the achievement of the Bank's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals and objectives and ensure adherence to CSR policies.
- Promote the desired risk culture and maintain strong relationships with all lines of defence.
- Engage with other divisions and associated businesses who conduct business in the region to assist with strategy and assist with their success in the territories.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business or Finance related disciplines

**Experience**:

- 10+ years senior experience in Rural Banking or similar
- Proven Leadership experience, managing and leading a team
- Affiliation/thorough understanding of the rural clients, gained through experience
