The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.

Top Energy is seeking a person to keep abreast of relevant new technology developments and propose, design, and implement new technology for the electricity network to ensure our network is future proofed.

This is a new role and will report to the Network Planning Manager.

**_ Key areas of focus will be:_**
- Lead the development and design of a future-proofed communications network, asset status and performance monitoring equipment
- Assist with the development of network performance data analytics and information reporting and the development, design and configuration specification of back-office operational technology capability
- Lead the assessment of future opportunities and subsequent potential development and design for the implementation of distributed energy resources and their management (including generation/storage/demand response)
- Lead the assessment and implementation of suitable communications protocols that enable near real-time communication, transactions and controls to occur between relevant electricity network stakeholders
- Work with the other design engineers to ensure future network design incorporates capacity and capability for distributed energy resources
- Actively manage or assist in the coordination of projects (depending on project scope) undertaken by internal and external service providers, consultants, and contractors according to the network standards
- Produce and regularly update the Asset Management Plan (AMP) commentary regarding future technology strategy and development
