**Reporting to the Head of Product and Process Development** and based in the Christchurch Head Office, this role contributes an expertise of polymer processing to Skellerup’s production and is responsible for standard processing variables across all rubber production activities, from compounding, across injection moulding and extrusion through to final processing. You will also support the standardisation, optimisation and development of both future and existing manufacturing processes and machinery. Other tasks include root cause analysis and trouble shooting, as well as the contribution of process engineering knowhow to formulation or product development projects.

**To be successful in this role** you will have a Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering qualification, be knowledgeable and experienced in designing and developing manufacturing machinery and processes, with insight into product design and formulation development. Ideally you will have experience with polymer or related production processes. You will take a structured approach to solving engineering problems, with knowledge of common IT and workload management tools and be able to work autonomously and collaboratively with a team approach when developing projects. You will be a clear and effective communicator with a continuous improvement mindset.
