We are seeking a Facilities and Services Manager with strong communication and relationship building skills to join our team in the Faculty of Science.
You will lead the facilities team in managing the provision of functional spaces to academic departments and administrative functions and serve as the primary liaison to the Property Services team.
This is a challenging, diverse, and rewarding role, for someone who thrives in a busy and dynamic environment and who would enjoy providing outstanding delivery and customer service to our students, staff and faculty.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to the Facilities team overseeing their service delivery to the Faculty.
- Serve as the Faculty’s primary liaison to the Property Services team to ensure ongoing provision of maintenance, cleaning, access control, and security.
- Co-ordinate Minor Capital Works in liaison with Faculty stakeholders and project managers.
- Oversee the allocation and management of space to the Faculty in liaison with the Property Services Space Planning Team.
- Support compliance with health and safety, containment, sustainability, and environmental requirements.
This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) with a salary range of $80,000 - $97,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**
We are seeking a person with a strong background and at least 5 years’ experience working in facilities or operations roles, including demonstrated:
- Skills and experience in leading a small team of staff.
- Skills and experience working constructively with key stakeholders at numerous levels of an organisation.
- Experience working with maintaining health & safety compliance.
- Knowledge of reporting, administration, and general information systems.
Being in the Science Faculty, it will be an advantage to possess a tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science, have worked in a tertiary or research environment, and had past experience with laboratory settings.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter with strong skills in relationship development and stakeholder engagement who is comfortable working within an often ambiguous and complex environment.
