**Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role**

We are embarking on a strategy to reposition Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga/ Ministry of Education's, digital landscape and connect the provision of digital services within the Ministry and, increasingly, to customers across the sector, partner agencies, and ultimately teachers/principals, ākonga and their whānau. As a member of Te Uepū Matihiko (Digital/IT Group) you will help champion this change as we transform the way we work.

As a trusted business advisor, you will take a holistic view to provide strategic high-quality advice, guidance and insights on our digital strategy to support strategic change and build digital resilience. Your strong partnership skills will engage with business and IT stakeholders to understand their priorities and advise on their strategic business technology and inform investment decisions to enable effective operating in this ever-changing digital landscape.

This multi-faceted and influential role involves:

- Develop and deliver a targeted approach to building on our digital strategy that aligns with Te Uepū Matihiko (Digital/IT Group) overall vision
- Translate business and technology strategies into effective digital investments and outcomes that champion and advocate the decisions of the group
- Build the capability of the team, ensuring compliance with governance to successfully deliver digital priorities and initiatives
- Drive a continuous improvement agenda, co-ordinated with business planning taking into account current challenges, risk and cost drivers
- Build trust in our stakeholder relationships by demonstrating insight and understanding of the challenges faced at an enterprise level to create a mutually beneficial relationship
- Appreciation of the role and impact of technology change in the wider context of business capabilities, procurement and supplier models, people, and processes.
- Salary band $131,287- $160,462 _+ _3% kiwi saver
- The appointing salary will depend on level of experience, skills, and relativity. _

Roles are located in Wellington though we are open to remote working with regular travel to Wellington as required.

**Mōhou ake | About you**

Your significant digital consulting experience will help design and develop a digitally focused strategy and connect this to address key challenges and big picture issues. As the Ministry is in a period of rapid change, experience leading or being part of an organisational transformation would be desirable.

You will have proven quality outcomes achieved by the following:

- Experience in managing and working with multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed teams
- Exemplary written and oral skills to present information in a concise, accurate and easy to understand form
- The ability to identify new and emerging technologies and their relevance and potential value to the Ministry
- Provide evidence and information to support strategic and operational decision making and support capability uplift
- Maintain a strategic understanding of stakeholder priorities and challenges, negotiate and influence outcomes to resolution
- Be knowledgeable in a wide range of digital, data and technology matters, especially as they relate to future organisational and systemwide investment
- Able to comfortably navigate complexity, while providing robust solutions for consideration and review
- Demonstrated ability to work at pace and deliver smart solutions while providing credible and pragmatic advice.
