**Clinical Nurse Specialist - Rheumatology**

- An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our senior Rheumatology nursing workforce within our Rheumatology Department at Waikato Hospital. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse with expertise within the Rheumatology field, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team. This role will work alongside out rheumatology consultants, and other senior nursing staff supporting the delivery of patient care.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
- The CNS role will report to the Nurse Manager of Cancer and Chronic Conditions
- The team consists of three CNSs, one RN, one Nurse Coordinator Rheumatology Research as well as two RN's in the research department, medical, allied health and administrative staff
- The role will involve; nurse lead clinics, encouragement of patient centred decision making, education, support and management of patients on DMARD and biologic medications including infusions
- The shifts are Monday to Friday 0800 - 1630
- Key responsibilities of the role:

- Support patients as they come into the health care system, through diagnosis, treatment and followup. Support quality initiatives that improve care and outcomes for this patient population and be involved in research opportunities.
- Your work days will involve; supporting doctors with FSA clinics, education, nurse lead clinics, advice line, nurse lead clinics in Thames, Tokoroa and Te Kuiti, departmental meetings, professional development.

**Mōu | About you**
- Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

- Have a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
- Have a minimum of 2 years NZ hospital experience
- Have a minimum of post graduate certificate
- Have some knowledge and/or experience in Rheumatology
- Proficiency in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
- A full clean NZ driver’s licence
