The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is the heart of Aotearoa New Zealand's cyber defence. We fulfil the cyber security responsibilities of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, to detect and disrupt high-impact cyber threats for nationally significant organisations.

The role
**They can be expected to**:
Receive notifications about high-impact cyber security incidents
Gather the required information to triage and evaluate
Carry out forensic investigations, sometimes on-site
Provide evidence-based tactical and strategic mitigation advice, as they manage the incident through its lifecycle
Who are we looking for
**You You will have**:
Communication skills that allow you to produce high quality investigative reports
The ability to build strong relationships quickly in high pressure incident response environments
The ability to relay information to both technical and non-technical audiences
A demonstrable interest in cybersecurity
Ideally you will have a background in one or more of the following:
Operational Cyber Security
Windows or Linux Digital Forensics
Incident Management
Programming and Scripting (experience with DevOps is a plus)
Systems or Network Engineering
Before you apply
Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
**You must**:
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
