**About the opportunity | Te whai waahi**

As a Farm Assistant, you will support the Farms Manager and contribute to the farm's performance in achieving national and global objectives. Our Te Rapa farm and involved blocks cover approximately 224 hectares, milk 180 dairy cows, and annually export around 700 tonnes of dry matter as grass silage.

We also graze beef and dairy replacement animals. Your role will be crucial in managing the farm's environmental performance and supporting Fonterra Te Rapa Manufacturing sites and DairyFerts licenses to operate. Key responsibilities include:

- Support the Farms Manager: Assist in delivering a programme of transformational change on-farm.
- Optimise Milk Solid Production: Help in optimizing farming activities within environmental and regulatory limits.
- Innovate Best Practices: Develop innovative and best on-farm practices/solutions for a profitable farm operation.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with manufacturing operations, local farmers, external contractors, and rural service professionals to ensure sustainable management of manufacturing by-products and create value for the Co-op.

Along with your ability to work amongst a team, you will be a highly reliable individual with a genuine passion for farming. You thrive in a team-oriented environment and are adaptable to the dynamic nature of farm work. There will be physical aspects of the role including the opportunity to communicate with various groups of people. Other requirements:

- On Farm Experience 1-2 years’ experience.
- Ability to safely operate basic farm machinery and equipment (bikes, side by side, tractor, etc.).
- Health and Safety Knowledge.
- Highly motivated and reliable
- Excels in building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
