**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.
We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and Hauora Maori Service colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.
The Service Development Advisor is a member of a life course team tasked with managing, in partnership with the Māori Hauora Service Directory, within their life course area and radically improving Māori Health and eliminating inequities. The Service Development Advisor has strong analytical and communication skills, relationship management and influence skills and negotiates and manages commissioning approaches through these relationships.
As a Service Development Advisor, you will support a life course team with your project management skills, and hold trusting relationships with Māori, health providers, clinicians, and the wider community to address key strategic and operational issues, negotiate key agreements and steward change including driving service improvements.
**This role is based in the Northern Region, which is made up of Northland, Waitematā, Auckland and Counties Manukau. You will need to be based in Auckland **the region**. Your location can be discussed at interview stage.**

- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage risk and follow through on tasks until successfully delivered
- Strong analytical and thought leadership development skills
- Understanding of machinery of government processes
- Experience in influencing people, change management and facilitation
- Good written and oral communication skills can be effective in various formal and informal presentation settings
- Project management skills, ability to independently run a project from start to end.
