**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have an available opportunity to join the Northern Region, Planning, Policy and Performance team as a **Planning and Performance Advisor.**

This permanent, full-time role will see the individual work in partnership with others to create, launch, & scale effective & sustainable public health policies and evaluation mechanisms to give effect to Pae Ora across the Northern Region. This will include facilitating system level impact through strong community-linkage, enabling the execution of strategies ensuring equity and translating learnings to inform future organisational efforts and opportunities. The role can be located at Greenlane or Whangārei.

You are someone with two-three years' experience in health, local government or public sector planning, with experience in the development of strategic & tactical approaches that translate policy into action as well as the establishment of evaluation, performance and progress processes that demonstrate outcomes. **Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Has a minimum of 2-3 years' relevant experience in health or public sector/local government policy
- A Bachelors qualification or equivalent experience. A qualification in Public Health or Public Policy and/or project management/ planning certification is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding and experience working in partnership with iwi/ hapū, Māori and Pacific communities
