**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**

As a Learning Designer working within the Learning and Development Directorate, you will be responsible for designing, developing and project managing a range of learning materials that will be implemented across the organisation. A key aspect of this role involves evaluating learning resources and conducting analyses to ensure these are meeting the needs of staff, and keeping materials up to date within a changing environment.

Working closely with other Directorate team members, you will analyse, designand develop the training delivery and resources for the organisation. You will lead project planning and manage contractors during projects to produce quality learning opportunities that will enhance the skills and capabilities of employees and volunteers.

This position is Wellington based but could be worked from another location by mutual agreement.

**Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - what you’ll bring to the role**

As an experienced Learning Designer, you will bring your understanding and knowledge of developing training plans and course design to this learning and development environment. You will have a flexible approach to new ideas, with a willingness to collaborate with others in the organisation to implement the best possible learning practices across the board. Graphic design skills would be an advantage.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have
- A formal qualification at Diploma or Degree level, preferably in education or learning.
- Demonstrated course design experience in a competency-based environment.
- Previous experience developing materials for delivery in a blended learning environment.
- Expertise in Articulate Storyline or an equivalent authoring tool.
- Previous project management experience, working within time constraints.
- Experience in training, and the processes required to determine training needs in an adult learning environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions.
