An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Facilities Manager within our busy Recreation, Sports, and Events Unit.

**About the role**:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring our 32 Recreation and Sport Centres, Outdoor Pools, Paddling Pools, Stadiums and Specialised Sport Facilities function optimally, to a high standard and meet the needs of our customers. This is a fast-paced position which will suit an experienced Facilities/Contractor Manager with excellent relationship management skills and people leader experience.

You will be required to drive continuous improvement and implement positive change across our network of facilities whilst being part of an exciting period of growth within the Recreation, Sports, and Events Unit with the additions of Parakiore and Matatiki Hornby Centre.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Utilising your extensive skills and knowledge, you will lead and support a team of experienced technical, facility experts (up to 7 direct reports).
- You will be responsible for the delivery of scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance across all our facilities.
- Working with managers across the Recreation, Sports, and Events Unit, you will ensure quality and safety standards along with customer service expectations are met.
- Liaising closely with third party suppliers, you will ensure high service levels are met while looking for opportunities to continually improve to service and reduce cost.
- With experience in contract management and managing multiple contracts at once, you will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities.

**Skills and Qualification**:

- Significant experience working within facilities/contractor management within a large, complex organisation.
- 5+ years working within a facilities leadership role.
- Relevant degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering or other relevant field desirable/or proven relevant experience at a senior level.
- Exceptional relationship management skills and experience managing a range of suppliers.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working within aquatic environments and pool plant desirable.
- Experience in asset management desirable

**Additional Recruitment Information**
- Hours of work: Permanent, full-time position.
- Location: This position is primarily based at one of our Recreation and Sports facilities, but will also involve work at Te Hononga Offices, 53 Hereford Street.
- Salary: To be discussed with the successful applicant.
