The Infrastructure & Property team delivers the core services that rate payers expect (and government mandates). These include roading, water services, parks and reserves, solid waste, emergency management, and the management of property holdings.

About the role
As a member of the Operational Delivery Team, the Facilities Management Lead will be responsible for the provision of effective and efficient delivery of a range of Facility Management service activities to the whole of Council and will:

  • Lead the tendering process to establish a 24/7 facilities management operation contract for all Council owned and operated facilities.
  • Lead the delivery of Facilities Management services across the organisation.
  • Be responsible for effective relationship management and effective engagement with the facility operators.
  • Develop strong contractual and collaborative approaches for the longterm planning and optimisation of facilities.
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring that the facility infrastructure performs and supports the operations and business requirements of the organisation and is costeffective.

About you

  • Solid practical Property/ Facilities Management experience in a diverse service organisation at a management level.
Minimum 10 years' experience.

  • Experience (35 years) leading a facilities or property management organisation for a large and complex portfolio
  • Relationship development and management skills
  • A working knowledge of the relevant property legislation, including the Building Act 2004, The Resource Management Act 1991 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 201
  • Experience in engaging and managing consultants and service providers.
  • Ability to set and maintain a high standard of quality assurance.
  • Welldeveloped negotiation skills.
  • Contract development and Contract delivery experience with the Property & FM sector.
  • Welldeveloped leadership and management skills
