About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Duty Manager to join our client’s team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the liquor store, ensuring efficient service, compliance with regulations, and a safe, friendly environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure customers receive prompt service and high-quality products.
Provide professional and courteous responses to customer inquiries and complaints.
Supervise and train staff to maintain high standards of service and product knowledge.
Plan and prepare work schedules, assigning duties to team members.
Manage staff performance, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating.
Ensure all alcohol sales comply with licensing laws and store policies.
Maintain accurate stock control through inventory checks and reordering of products.
Oversee pricing, product display, and promotional activities.
Handle returned goods appropriately and maintain store cleanliness.
Enforce health, safety, and security standards within the store.
Open and close the store as required and manage cash handling procedures.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of relevant retail or supervisory experience, preferably in a liquor store or similar environment, or
A New Zealand Register Level 2 qualification (or higher) in retail, hospitality, or management.
Must hold (or be eligible to hold) a current Duty Manager’s Certificate under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as needed.
