The Opportunity

We are looking for Change Manager to join our Executive Advice Team on a 12 month fixed term (part time) contract in our busy Dunedin office.

Take the lead in an exciting, organisation-wide initiative to prepare Otago Regional Council staff for a transformative move to a purpose-built environment. This pivotal project focuses on ensuring a seamless transition while maximising benefits for the organisation, its people and the communities we serve. Your expertise will support staff to adapt to a new environment, foster resilience, and adaptability, and achieve the full potential of this exciting change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager to develop and execute tailored change management plans, including communication strategies, training programmes, and readiness assessments.
  • Identify concerns and challenges early and work closely with teams to address them and adapt project implementation tactically where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, providing change support and fostering collaboration to help staff adapt to changes in the working environment.
  • Monitor progress, adoption, and the embedding of ways of working to deliver measurable project benefits.
  • Lead engagement events and provide ongoing support to ensure staff feel confident and prepared for the transition.
  • Collaborate with project and leadership teams to align activities with organisational goals and ensure sustained success.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in change management, human resources, or project management.
  • 10+ years in a related field, with expertise in change management methodologies such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile.
  • A practical, pragmatic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and foster collaboration.
  • The ability to identify concerns and challenges, and to develop and implement solutions that are both practical and effective.
  • Exceptional organisational and facilitation skills, with a focus on delivering outcomes.
  • A proactive and creative mindset with the flexibility to adapt as needed.
