Our organisation comprises a dedicated Committee of volunteers and three staff members, all working towards the common goal of promoting and supporting New Zealand's emerging aerospace community.

Job Summary:

The Special Projects Coordinator will support the Operations team in planning, executing, and promoting Aerospace New Zealand's core activities and special projects. These initiatives include our bi-monthly Meet-Up Events, Online Webinars, Space Camps, Start-Up Mentoring Programme, Associates Programme and the New Zealand Aerospace Summit.

The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of business, digital marketing, social media, and event coordination. As a small team, the ability to collaborate effectively, meet deadlines efficiently, and actively seek ways to improve internal processes is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations Lead.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Aerospace New Zealand events and special projects.
  • Contribute to the production of Aerospace New Zealand newsletters.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of Aerospace New Zealand's website, blog, and social media platforms.
  • Assist in creating engaging digital content for social media platforms.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Work with the Operations Team to provide post-project/event reporting.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Operations Team as needed.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Qualification in business management, marketing, communications, event management, project management or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and project/event coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the aerospace industry.
  • Proactive and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn.

Hours of Work and Location:

This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 to 40 hours per week. This role is based out of our Christchurch office, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. As Aerospace New Zealand is a national organisation, some travel throughout the country may be required periodically.
