- Strategic, future focus with vision and innovation to serve the community.
- Newly created position - part of the senior leadership team.
- Provide mentoring and support to empower your team to success.
About the organisation
Te Whare Korowai Taangata o Kirikiriroa provides safe accommodation and support to homeless single adults. For 25 years, they have been steadfast, constantly adapting to meet the ever-changing demands of our society.
Working with some of the most vulnerable adults in Aotearoa is no easy task, as guests struggle to find their place in a world that does not make sense to them. Te Whare Korowai offers an array of best practice care and professional support, 24/7, to help their guests on a journey towards independent living in the community once again.
Striving towards its alignment with Te Tiriti, Te Whare Korowai has incorporated a Te Ao Maaori approach in its endeavours, to create connections back to whaanau and whenua for a more sustainable future.
About the role
This is a newly created position, reporting directly to the CEO. It will bring a strategic focus to the business operations of the organisation, creating efficiencies and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery in the community.
You will realise Te Whare Korowai's vision for the future by:
- Providing strategic financial advice, planning and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Leading and mentoring a dedicated team, providing guidance and support as they develop their professional capability.
- Overseeing the organisation's financial, property and wider business operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
- Identifying new revenue streams to support the organisation's ambitions.
- Leading the planning of CAPEX and significant OPEX projects, establishing effective procurement strategies for property related initiatives.
- Fostering relationships with professional partners, regulatory bodies and community groups.
About you
This is a highly challenging and complex environment, so it is crucial to bring a level of collaboration, innovation and empathy to the role. Our preferred candidate will also offer:
- Proven experience at a leadership level in an operations or business management role, preferably within the community services or not-for-profit sector.
- The ability to empower and inspire your team, to create a sense of camaraderie and pride, and uphold the values of the organisation.
- Strong financial, asset and property management experience skills, with the ability to lead programmes of work.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships across a diverse range of external partners.
- A curiosity and innovative approach to problem solving, offering future-focused and sustainable solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of operating within statutory frameworks and adhering to regulatory compliance requirements.
- An understanding of Te Ao Maaori and Tikanga principles would be a distinct advantage.
- A tertiary qualification is preferred.
This will be some of the most rewarding and fulfilling work you will ever be involved in. Are you ready to tackle homelessness in Kirikiriroa? Apply now
