Role
Both positions are 1.0FTE, 40 hours per week and part of a multi-disciplinary child and adolescent team that provides a cluster of services in a community setting supporting infant, children and adolescents' mental health to help Tangata Whaiora (service users) achieve their maximum health potential within the specific complex area of eating disorders through assessment and/or intervention. The successful candidate will provide mental health services as an active, supportive member of the team in a collaborative environment providing specialist assessments and treatments to children, adolescents and their Whanau (family). Developing treatment programmes, understanding training to clinicians within the team and facilitating Whanau meetings as well as family interventions are all part of the scope of this position. Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing triage to clients in crisis, and undertaking other duties to keep the service running effectively and efficiently are all expected outcomes to maintain service leadership.
Minimum Requirements- At least three to five years, or more, post-license training and experience in child and adolescent mental health setting and/or open to working with children, adolescents and their families;
- Knowledge of child psychology and development;
- Able and willing to manage your own caseload;
- Able and willing to provide a range of assessments;
- Able and willing to provide a range of therapies including CBT, DBT, and others;
- Must have a lovely personality with a smashing sense of humour;
- Acceptance and experience working with children and their families who may have mental health problems;
- Commitment to consumer-focused care and recovery;
- Able to apply theoretical concepts and professional knowledge to practice;
- Eligible to receive your NZ Psychologist with clinical scope;
- Annual practicing certificate prior to starting work;
- Able to meet Immigration New Zealand's health, police background check and other requirements for a work visa;
- Able and willing to commit at least two years.
- 4 weeks annual leave per annum;
- 11 paid public holidays per annum;
- Around $2,500 for CME per year;
- Malpractice insurance not required;
- Don't have to deal with insurance companies;
- Potential for some help with relocation costs;
- Other things discussed at offer time.
