Our Organisation

Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Child Development Service for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in working with tamariki/children and their whānau/community support. The position is 32 hrs per week (0.8 FTE).

The successful applicant will provide high quality occupational therapy through assessment, consultation, and therapy services to children alongside their families/support network who are referred through the Child Development Service of MidCentral. The tamariki may be referred due to developmental delay, reduced mobility, and cognitive ability.

The Child Development Service is based at the Palmerston North Hospital; however, it provides a region-wide service. It is a multi-disciplinary Allied Health service providing a range of assessment, intervention, and support services to children with developmental and behavioural concerns and their whānau who reside within the MidCentral district.
