SHAPE is a young and ambitious company with a mission to provide New Zealand businesses with resilient, smart and reliable energy infrastructure - especially in critical times of need. Part of the STILL Group, SHAPE is quietly achieving impressive things in the energy sector - providing both power electronics and power generation services to businesses throughout New Zealand (and potentially the world).
With microgrids on Māhia Peninsula and Samoa, 5G mobile power sources which can provide critical communications in times of disaster through to generators and solar solutions and energy storage - SHAPE is a fascinating company to be a part of and will be a strong energy solution provider in the future.
SHAPE has a number of interesting projects in the pipeline, and is poised for growth in 2025.
With a team of 90, SHAPE has partnered with blue chip companies who appreciate their ability to be nimble, agile and customer focused. Much of their recent success (and the reason for being the preferred partners on projects) - is due to their ability to solve energy challenges for their clients and also to develop genuine relationships.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO role is one of impactful leadership that merges aspirational vision with operational expertise. You will empower your team and cultivate a vibrant culture while driving ambitious sales to achieve profitable growth. As a natural relationship builder, you will nurture client connections, create new opportunities, and ultimately establish an exceptional brand that enhances the company's reputation.
Leading a business of around 90 people, with a senior leadership team of 4, the role involves delivering to the strategic plan, while ensuring effective financial management of the company. You will develop and align business strategies with both short-term and long-term objectives. Additionally, you will create and implement a plan for consistent success, while managing relationships with key stakeholders. Strengthening the company and its brands through marketing and social media is essential, alongside proactively pursuing innovative products and services in line with the company's and shareholders' mission.
Your Background
You'll have excellent leadership experience, as a previous CEO and be well respected by the people you lead. You'll have the ability to form effective relationships with everyone in the business as well as key clients. Due to the size of SHAPE and growth intentions, you'll be someone who can roll your sleeves up when needed but also have gravitas with the Board.
Ideally you've got electrical experience and an understanding of the industry, however more importantly you will have demonstrated experience in leading growth companies. With a strong background in sales development you will have a customer-centric approach, prioritizing the needs of clients while maintaining a strong focus on profitable growth, identifying opportunities and driving innovation.
You will have experience cultivating strong company cultures and effectively utilising available resources to achieve organizational goals.
