Placement Broker

What can you expect?

As a Placement Broker, you will be responsible for developing renewal objectives and placement strategies for Corporate and Commercial renewals in New Zealand and Fiji. You will negotiate coverage changes with underwriters and gather insurance capacity efficiently. You will analyze quotes and provide analysis to colleagues and clients. Building client and market relationships is important, as is staying updated on changing risk and insurance market conditions. You will contribute to client retention through effective risk solutions and excellent service. You will interact with internal stakeholders, external clients and insurers. Key competencies include client service, communication, attention to detail, ethics and professionalism, innovation, technical knowledge, and strong working relationships. You will contribute to the team's business plans, maintain relationships with insurers, provide high-quality client servicing, ensure compliance, and support revenue generation. Professional accreditation and a degree are preferred.

We will count on you to:

  • Placement Strategy & Broking: Exceed expectations of clients and colleagues through setting aggressive placement strategies and delivering to these within agreed timeframes.
  • Insurance programme design: Through communication and understanding of clients requirements, designing optimal programme structures that exceed expectations whilst being technically sound at all times.
  • Act as placement strategist and negotiator on a mixture of Corporate and Commercial renewals across New Zealand and Fiji
  • Develop renewal objectives and placement strategies in conjunction with the Client Executive and execute in accordance with client instructions.
  • Negotiate coverage changes with underwriters to ensure the coverage specifications are correct and fit-for-purpose.
  • Gather and structure insurance capacity in the most efficient manner to deliver cost-effective placement solutions.
  • Analyse quotes from carriers and provide analysis to client-facing colleagues and/or clients to assist with developing placement solutions and renewals.
  • Support the New Zealand business to reach goals and win new business through research and gathering market intelligence to assist the design, development, and marketing of new insurance and risk products.
  • Build and maintain client and market relationships at appropriate levels to execute effectively on placement objectives.
  • Contribute to the firm's body of knowledge through active internal communication to keep abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions.
  • Contributes to client retention through effective risk solutions and excellence in service.
