Senior Consultant- Alternative Risk Solutions

An exciting opportunity has come about for a seasoned risk professional to help identify, prioritise, and develop new alternative risk transfer opportunities including new captive and parametric implementations, take-over of competitor managed captives, and consultancy projects such as captive feasibility study, captive strategic and domicile reviews, analytical analyses and modelling. Also, for Parametric identifying risk drivers, Modeling, and structuring, to marketing, negotiation with insurers and documentation.

We will count on you to:

  • Support business development activities for alternative risk transfer related opportunities in the Pacific.
  • Delivery of captive consulting projects and support the Pacific leader in presentations to prospects and clients on new business opportunities.
  • Writing project proposals; presenting project deliverables to clients and prospects.
  • Attend client and broker meetings to understand requirements, drivers, objectives, exposures and solutions.
  • Respond to any alternative risk transfer related prospect and client tenders (both specific alternative risk transfer tenders and any elements within brokerage tenders).
  • Develop and build relationships both internally and externally with clients, and colleagues.
  • Support the wider Marsh business by supporting presentations and providing industry and professional input to colleagues and clients.
  • Develop knowledge and keep up to date with industry developments, including maintaining expertise on relevant changes which affect alternative risk transfer solutions.
  • Understand clients' needs across various industries, develop targets, identify risks and develop parametric solutions.
  • Gather and analyse clients' financial data, as well as 3rd party parametric index data.
  • Work with senior team members and use existing models to help design tailored solutions.
  • Administer electronic data and file storage, as well as distribute documentation to clients.
  • Prepare term sheets and quote summaries for clients.
  • Maintain internal logs of live deals, placement process, as well as market and client contacts.
  • Review insurance policies and financial contracts, and identify potential pitfalls and improvements.
  • Perform loss calculations for existing client contracts.

We would like you to have:

  • We are looking for someone who has specific analytical, parametric and captive insurance knowledge/experience and understands the insurance and consulting elements.
  • A degree in Actuarial science, mathematics, or a related professional qualification is required.
  • Minimal exposure to working experience in captive feasibility study, P&C insurance reserving and pricing actuarial analyses and negotiating and parametric modelling.
  • The candidate needs to be an enthusiastic team player who is keen to learn and develop optimal solutions for clients.
