**About the role**:
We’re looking for an Underwriting Assistant in our Offshore Market Placements (OMPL) division to join our team in Central Auckland on a
**12 month fixed term contrac**
**t** covering parental leave.

OMPL is Crombie Lockwood's specialist underwriting agency. Based in Beaumont Street, Auckland, the team manages all underwriting, support, and administrative services for the OMPL agency. OMPL places the vast majority of business into Lloyd's, with our team of underwriters having authority to operate on behalf of Lloyd's syndicates in respect of all sorts of classes of business, from Commercial Property to Cyber Liability and everything in between.

The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to the wider team to enable the function to maintain its reporting timeline obligations to a timely and efficient manner, you will also be responsible for processing new business, renewals, endorsement and cancellation transactions within the required timeframe

**Responsibilities**:

- Issuing policy documentation and certificates of currency
- Processing of complex accounts
- Managing the OMPL placings box to a timely and efficient manner
- Following up brokers documents such as valuations and Fire & Emergency declarations
- Running various reports and actioning as required
- Supporting the underwriting team and technical manager with report requests
- Assisting the Finance team with account transactions and reconciliation
- General administration support to the team
- Keeping the Director OMPL, and underwriters (as appropriate) aware of any issues or potential areas of concern or problems requiring resolution
- Work with the underwriters so they are kept up to date on relevant issues

**Skills and Experience**:

- Strong administration skills with high competency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise work effectively
- Mature work ethic within a small team that is part of a larger organisation
- Experience in an Insurance environment is advantageous
