Waipapa is our new facility that has a footprint of 10,450m2, making it the South Island - s largest tertiary hospital.

We are seeking Surgical Registrars to join us in April 2023.
Waitaha Canterbury offer Surgical Registrar positions in a variety of surgical specialities:
You will rotate through our Surgical services starting in General Surgery relief.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
- Completed PGY2 year or equivalent
- Completion of your General Surgical Science Examination (GSSE) would be advantageous
- A keen passion for surgery
- You will have experience in a number of hospital departments.
- Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
- A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
- Enhance your career with first class training and supervision from the Medical Education & Training Unit (METU)
- Be supported by our Resident Doctors
- Support Team (RDST)
