Our Psychiatry services are some of the largest and busiest in New Zealand Psychiatric training in Christchurch is run in conjunction with the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago - s Christchurch Clinical School.


Permanent full-time Psychiatry Registrar, training and non-training positions, available, commencing on 31/07/2023 or by negotiation, based principally at our dedicated psychiatric site (Hillmorton Hospital), but with rotations to our other metropolitan hospital sites.

  • Previous experience in psychiatry is an advantage but not necessary
  • Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
  • A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
