  • 6 months fixed term Gastroenterology Fellow position
commencing 31/07/2023 followed by 6 months on the gastroenterology registrar/consultant
rota (based on existing UK experience).

  • Independent endoscopist (Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy).
  • Provide care for a variety of Gastroenterology
and Hepatology inpatients.

  • Participate in Gastroenterology and
Hepatology outpatient clinics that are well-supported by a consultant.

  • Opportunity to develop your subspecialty
interest.

  • Contribution to the teaching activities of
the department.

  • Encouraged to participate in research,
development of department guidelines and audit.

pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience

  • You must have MBChB, MBBS or equivalent.
  • You must be eligible for general or
provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You

  • Experience and recognised training in Gastroenterology,
Hepatology and Endoscopy (ideally Year 4 or 5 Gastroenterology Registrar in UK
training system).

  • Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti
  • Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
  • A willingness to grow and further
develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority
groups.

in gastroenterology clinical work. Appropriately credentialed in specialty
area. Clinically credible as an RMO (equivalent to Registrar in UK training)
in Gastroenterology.

The role
